The Fitness Oasis

In the SAFRA Choa Chu Kang Clubhouse project, we challenged the boundaries of traditional recreational architecture by defining it as a "Fitness Oasis" that exists in symbiosis with its public park setting. The architectural form is inspired by the energy of physical activity, utilizing massive V-shaped structural trusses and a multi-faceted concrete facade to symbolize the strength and unity of the National Service community.

The heart of the development is a central green spine and lush courtyard, which maximizes natural light and facilitates cross-ventilation to significantly reduce reliance on artificial cooling. We strategically elevated the swimming pool into the tree canopies to blur the lines between the built environment and the forest foliage. A signature feature, the "Steps-of-Life," serves as a vertical exercise amenity linking ground-level park trails to a 150-meter sky running track on the fourth storey. Having achieved the BCA Green Mark Platinum – Super Low Energy certification, this project demonstrates our commitment to enhancing user wellbeing while maintaining a sustainable tropical footprint.
