The River Valley: A Symbiosis of Heritage and Cloud Computing

Chengnan Riverfront Urban Complex stands as a landmark lifestyle destination that seamlessly integrates high-density commercial functions with the natural serenity of the Chengnan River. Our design draws poetic inspiration from the dual identity of Nanjing—merging the tactile tradition of Nanjing silk brocade with the futuristic concept of cloud computing. The architectural massing is characterized by an organically-shaped central link bridge that conceals a functional pump station, transforming a site constraint into a multi-dimensional "river valley" courtyard that frames the waterfront plazas.

The podium facade honors the brand identity of Sasseur through the sophisticated use of red terracotta tiles, creating a warm, earthy dialogue with the river's northern bank. To enhance the user experience beyond traditional retail, we introduced a series of terracing balconies and Sky Lounges in the towers, offering panoramic views and creating a "second ground floor" for social interaction. By prioritizing site context and nature-integrated shopping, the complex redefines the future of retail as a vibrant, multi-sensory urban ecosystem.
