ORTHO is a masterful exploration of architectural massing and poetic light. Designed for a tiered, irregularly shaped site, the residence is composed of two massive, offset concrete volumes with a sophisticated board-formed finish. This project redefines the "ranch-style" home by utilizing the site’s natural topography to create a seamless transition between a secure, semi-underground entrance and a sprawling, elevated main living level.
The core of our design philosophy for this project is the "orchestration of the void." By integrating two parallel courtyards—one grand garden terrace and one slender light-well—we have blurred the boundaries between the interior sanctuary and the natural environment. The coffered ceilings and strategic skylights create a rhythmic interplay of light and shadow that evolves throughout the day, while at night, the "ORTHO_Night" concept transforms the structure into a glowing sculptural beacon. This residence is not merely a shelter; it is a profound spiritual space crafted through minimalist geometry and material honesty, offering the inhabitants absolute privacy without sacrificing a deep connection to the sky and earth.
